With spring coming up, and wedding season just around the corner, its time to start planning for your besties big night! As the maid of honour, or as part of the team of bridesmaids planning the night, it’s your job to make sure the bride has the best night ever!
Do not stress! You are in the right place for all your hens party ideas, inspiration and information.
Whether you are looking to for a packed full weekend, or a laid back spa day, this list has something for every type of bride.

From the start of planning any Hen Party there are some key elements to remember and if you keep these 3 rules in mind you can’t go far wrong:

  1. Know your bride and what she would enjoy.
  2. The main objective is to get all the pals together and celebrate the bride to be in all her glory.
  3. Make it fun!

Every bride is unique, some are super girlie girls that would love nothing more than a pink cinderella themed party, while others would rather get worked up with a full on day of activities.

This unique Hens Day experience is filled with love and laughter, ideal to share with the mother of the bride and other family members too, making amazing memories to last a lifetime.

2. WINERY TOUR – A TOAST TO US

A day of wining and dining against a backdrop of rolling hills and grapevines carries an air of sophistication even the mother of the bride will love. But what happens next is up to you!
Keep it classy and brush up on your wine speak, or pop another cork and let the good times roll. There’s plenty of room to gather all the girls together, or spread out and hide the new in-laws from the novelty straws and X-rated games (There’s always one!) Our Hens Party Winery Tour allows you to soak up the sights, and drinks, from the comfort of a privately-chauffeured vehicle. So, slip on your rosé-coloured glasses, sit back and relax. We’re going to make this a day to remember! (Albeit a little hazy the next morning)

3. COCKTAIL MAKING – SHAKE, STIR, SIP

Cocktails with the girls have never looked (or tasted) this good! Take a seat in your very own private area of a renowned cocktail bar, and prepare to master the art of Mixology!
Enjoy cocktails and canapés as your professional bartender guides your group through every step of crafting the perfect classic cocktail. A great ice-breaker, the cocktail making class is a fun and relaxed way to start your girls night out. We recommended taking notes so you can use your new-found skill set on the bride’s big day. Your Hen will thank you for it!

4. TRUE OLD SCHOOL-SLEEEPOVER

Don’t know about you, but one of my all time favourite things growing up was having my gal pals over for a sleepover. We may have grown up (a little) but the basic elements of a sleepover are still brilliant, plus now we can have some drinkies! It’s perfect for a small group of close pals instead of going out on the razz, get together and have some proper chats.

  • Choose a house, your own, a fellow bridesmaid’s or the brides family home if her mum is onboard of course.
  • Supply the goodies, sweets treats and all that good stuff.
  • Buy lots of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
  • Plan some fun games, twister, truth or dare, charades, ‘Pin the Tie on the Groom’ – A really easy take on ‘Pin the Tale on the Donkey’, all you have to do is print out a large photograph of the hubby to be and a separate tie or bow tie and get some pins!
  • Rent some girly movies – Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Clueless all the faves!
  • Buy the bride some novelty pjs and slippers.
  • Ask the guests to bring their own pjs (choose a colour or theme so you’re all matching)and sleeping bag.

Keep it simple the fun is having all her girlfriends together, add some drinkies and silliness and you’ll be up all night!

5 . FLOWER CROWN WORKSHOP – FLOWER QUEEN

Every Queen needs a crown, and flower crown workshops are a beautiful way to celebrate the bride-to-be. With gorgeous seasonal florals, greenery and vintage ribbons, a dedicated instructor will demonstrate designs and techniques to help you craft your very own flower crown. All flowers and materials are supplied – you just bring the bubbles and your creative flair. This glamorous and girly day makes for a gorgeous photo opportunity with the Hen, and can even be used as inspiration for the bridal party’s hairpieces. Available at a venue of your choice, this is a great option for including participants of all ages from flowergirls to Great Grandmas, while celebrating all things feminine and floral.

6. WINE AND CHEESE NIGHT

Wine and cheese are there two better things in the world? This one is simple and depending on numbers should be reasonably inexpensive. Get good quality products from the local farmer’s markets, lots of grapes and just have some chats. It’s a quiet type of hen party but if you’re entertaining older members of the family or you’re just looking for something more civilised this could be the one.

7. PAINTBALL – SWAP PEDICURES FOR PAINTBALLS

Don’t let the guys have all the fun! If a ladies day at the Day Spa sounds as entertaining as watching paint dry, the fast-paced action of the paintball battlefield might be more your style.
What better way to show your love for the Hen, than strapping a target to her back and arming everyone in your tribe with 300 paintballs – each!
Combining heart-pumping fun and a killer workout, the carbs won’t count when your pizza lunch is served. Best of all, you’ll leave energised and ready for a night of luxury after this unique day-time event.

8. HIGH TEA – LET THEM EAT CAKE

We could tell you all about the history and etiquette of high tea, which originated among England’s wealthiest classes in the 1840s. But why bore you with the details when there’s cake, cucumber sandwiches and French champagne waiting? This afternoon experience exudes elegance, from the fresh scones with cream and jam, to the classy reserved area just for your Hens Party inside the exquisite venue. This is the perfect experience for the Hen who loves the finer things in life, and it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser for all of her guests. Who doesn’t love cake!

9. FARM WEEKEND

Get those wellies on for a fun filled weekend on the farm! A real hen party with a difference, farm weekends are filled with fun activities such as cow-milking, feeding the animals, bog-jumping, bread-making, hen chases and farm treasure trails. All great craic providing fantastic memories for the bride to be and her mates.

10. ARCHERY ATTACK – BADASS BABES WITH BOWS

From Robin Hoods’ Maid Marian and Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, to the red-haired Meridan in Disney Pixar’s Brave, Hollywood has embraced fearless females with bows and arrows. Now it’s your turn to bring the archer goddess dream to life, with your very own coloured bow, foam tipped arrow and… face guard.
True to its name, Archery Attack is a battle and you are the target. Your group will be thrown into the battlefield with only the inflatable obstacle course and your safety gear to protect you. And we make sure the Hen can’t hide with a target strapped to her back!
