The Christmas table setting is a great way to set the scene for a beautiful lunch and/or dinner. Setting a table is a fine art but can often be stressful and left as a last minute priority on the day. To help you come up with a table setting that is simple and stylish, I’ve come up with some simple tips to help you style your own table with flair.
The key to achieving a simple, yet stylish Christmas table setting is choosing two to three colours. Once you’ve decided which colours you will use, it makes it easy to choose the plates, cutlery, crackers and whatever other décor pieces you will have on the table.
In my setting, I’ve chosen to use a white plastic tablecloth as a base. The reason I’ve chosen plastic is simply because I have three young girls who will be sitting at the table with the family and plastic makes it easy to clean up spills.
A simple, yet elegant chevron table runner has been placed in the middle of the table, with Christmas Dome ornaments and a cement vase of gold branches.
I opted to make the plates a feature instead of using place mats. A metallic cracker and personalized bauble has been placed on each plate so guests know were to sit.
You can make your own personalized bauble name tags by purchasing these two tone baubles from Kmart. The white bottoms make it easy to write your guest’s names. The baubles not only become a name setting, but also a personalized memento from the Christmas feast.
In all, the items came in under $60. Most items were sourced from Kmart.
